R.I.P. Comicbookresources.com

So very sad to say that we lost www.comicbookresources.com this year. Back on January 11, 2011 I wrote about the loss of me primary source of comic book news and entertainment. It was fascinating watching it die over those few months, no price guide, less pages, layouts dedicated to gigantic pictures, etc. I could see the end coming from a long way out. I resigned myself to fact that print was dead. I always had comicbookresources to fill the void. Unfortunately, comicbookresources was sold (good for you, Jonah) and was rechristened CBR. I'll still visit from time to time, but this was a different kind of death. One that I never saw coming. I had some windows opened on my computers and was able to salvage these last articles before the site became much more boring. Rest in peace, old comicbookresources.

Kate Sullivan Second Grade Team

A teacher friend from Roberts Elementary wanted me to draw some generic superhero bodies for her class. The idea being that the kids could cut and paste photos of themselves on the bodies as classroom decorations (AR Goals, Class room helpers, etc.) I sent her black and white drawings that the kids could color themselves, but I also sent the bodies fully clothed in the Roberts school colors.

And then my mom asked for "quick" portraits of the Kate Sullivan Second Grade team. Keep in mind that I have my own school year to get ready for. (Number fifteen for those you keeping score at home!) So I recycled the bodies and threw the heads on.

Since Kate Sullivan and Killearn Lakes have the same school colors, I emailed the blank green bodies to the staff at my school for whatever needs they might have. This was all done in mid-August.
