2018 Summer Vacation (Day 1: Savannah, GA)

The missus and I visited Savannah for our fifteenth wedding anniversary back in February. 
We noticed that it was such a dog friendly city and thought that we could take a family vacation there. Well, here we are...

Mural 2018 (Day 16)

Finished! Dismount! Painted the outline on the last 5 1/2 leprechauns! Still had to go to school the following Tuesday to finish off the school year.

Mural 2018 (Day 15)

Current Status: In Savannah.

We had two days of post planning in which teachers are expected to close out the school year and clean their classrooms in preparation for next year. I planned on finishing the outline of the fifteen leprechauns. I took tens minutes per character when I drew them on the wall in black marker. I knew that that was not possible, but MAYBE I could outline every character in twenty minutes each. Well, I took me all of the work day to paint nine (at about 40 minutes each.) That left six to complete on Monday (the official last day of school for teachers.)

Mural 2018 (Day 14)

Thursday, May 31: Last day of school for kids. Once again Fifth grade took their "Shamrock Stroll" past an "mostly finished" unfinished mural. I was able to add the black outline to the basketball, lacrosse, hockey, soccer, football, and quiddich goals. The only step left is to outline the 15 (!?!) sports leprechauns. Only two days of post-planning left for teachers.

Mural 2018 (Day 13)

Finished adding highlights on the Wednesday Early Release Day. One day of school left! Will I finish on time!?!

Skipped Sunday and Memorial Day Monday. Tuesday was the first of the half days. Just started adding highlights to some characters (basketball, lacrosse, hockey). Only two half-days left of school with kids.

Maybe not EXACTLY by myself. The old fam painted flat colors for SIX hours on Saturday the 26th. AGAIN!

Friday, May 25. KLES Cook-out. Cafeteria tables under the covered area. Only able to finish the hockey goal and red padding around the football goal post.

In reality, we attended Dr. Iris Wilson's retirement party at Florida State. Boys slept on the couches and I didn't read to them.
